Will-Recd18 Mar 1813  John's will was recorded in court on 16 March 1813. He had written it 3 years earlier, on 28 Feb. 1810. The will left half of the land he lived on (containing 83 acres) to his daughter Agness. The tract had been purchased by John and his son Henry from Moses Buchanan. Agness was to receive the part with the dwelling house. John named his sons Richard and John as his executors.2

This deed, recorded 27 Aug. 1824, references 41.5 acres sold by Thomas and Agnes McCall to James Edmondson which was left by Agness in the will of her father, John Montgomery, deceased. The description of the land includes .. "that part devised to Agness Montgomery, who is now the wife of said Thomas McCall". The land had first been deeded by Thomas and Agnes to James Edmondson on 16 Dec. 1820 but the deed was redrawn in 1824 to clarify the boundaries.
