Misc. Locations > Myrtle McLaurine Cochran Co., Texas Land

Myrtle (McCamant) McLaurine settled 629 acres of land in Cochran County, Texas between 1902 and 1909. The tract sat near the junction of Cochran, Yoakum, Hockley and Terry Counties. A narrow strip of land across the southern boundary of the property fell into Yoakum Co, but the bulk of the land was in Cochran County. For reasons I do not know, the formal patent to the land was not granted in Myrtle's name until 1944, thirty-one years after her death. See Myrtle's page for source information.
