I Samuel Meek of Washington County, Virginia…

1. perishable part of estate sold to pay just debts

2. wife Elizabeth Meek one third of my real and personal estate during her natural life; also Negro girl Rose

3. son Archibald 100 acres of the land I now live on to be laid off of the south side of the great road adjoining lines with the heirs of William White and the heirs of Samuel Scott, including the spring in the field over on the south side of the creek; also one half of an entry containing 500 acres in Tennessee which I entered with Robert Craig, who acted as an agent for Col’n Jack; also $30 to pay a note due to William Snodgrass; one half of my wearing apparel

4. son Thomas the other half of my wearing apparel; other half of land in Tennessee; also property already in his possession.

5. remainder of land I now live on to remain unsold to support my family until executors feel advantageous to do so; at death of wife may be sold immediately and proceeds given to my children: Thomas, Rhoanah, Polly, Ellinor and Sally $350 and daughter Elizabeth Anderson $236 in addition to what she already received; monies children receive from sale of my personal estate to be deducted from the $350 each is due above.

6. remaining real and personal estate to be equally divided among children, both married and unmarried except Archibald who shall be entitled to a one half share of the surplus

7. appt two friends Majr James Snodgrass and William Snodgrass executors
