Washington Co., Virginia Will Bk 28 (C): 316
Will of Benjamin K. Buchanan
Dated 1 Apr. 1887; recorded 24 Sept. 1901
Abstracted from FHL mf# 2025879

This is my will….

- to wife Rachel B. Buchanan all personal estate including all money due me; money to pass into her possession without valuation or account of it as part of my estate

- wife Rachel to pay my debts

- since I have already provided for my sons William, Jack, Thomas P. and Alexander F., leaving only my daughter Jean K. I give to her the homestead bounded by the lands of Jack, William, Thomas and Alexander, containing 162 acres more or less. This is more than an equal share with the other children but as her mother is entitled to and is expected and directed to occupy and control it as long as she lives the interest of all will be about equal.

- appoint wife Rachel executor, not requiring security of her
