I Alexander Robinson of the County of Washington and State of Virginia…

I have given unto my daughter Sarah [Leah per the clerk's copy recorded in WCV WB 9] Snodgrass 1 horse, saddle and bridle, 1 cow and 3 head of sheep, 1 bed and furniture and $140, and this I consider to be her portion.

I have given unto my daughter Margaret Dungans 1 horse, saddle and bridle, 1 bed and furniture and 3 head of Sheep and $100 in money and 1 cow, this I consider to be her portion.

I have given daughter Rachel Snodgrass 1 horse, saddle & bridle, 3 head of sheep and 1 cow and calf, bed and furniture [and] at my decease she is to have $100 in cash and this I consider to be her portion.

I have given to my daughter Eliza Tombleson [Tomlinson] 1 bay horse, saddle and bridle, 1 cow, 3 head of sheep, 1 bed & furniture and at my decease she is to have $100 in cash and if my daughter Eliza Tombleson [Tomlinson] should die without an heir all the property I have given her… to be equally divided among her sisters if any or all of them should be dead[,] to their children.

I give and bequeath unto my 3 sons James, Samuel and William the plantation on which I now live to be equally divided between them at their mother’s death.

I give my wife Polly her natural life time the plantation on which I now live and likewise 1 horse and 2 cows, 6 head of sheep[,] household & kitchen furniture at her decease to dispose of as she may think proper among her children[.]

I desire after my just debts and funeral expenses be paid… that my moneys in hand and all debts by notes or accounts due me… that I have not above particularly devised be paid to my daughters until they have the amount I have given them… if my property should not be sufficient my 3 sons James, Samuel and William must pay an equal proportion out of their own property until their sisters have the amounts I have given them… and if my money and property should over pay my daughters the remainder to be equally divided between my 3 sons… 14 May 1844.
