I, Robert G. Grant, Sr. of Washington County, Virginia, I do hereby make my last will and testament in the form and manner following, that is to say I desire that my Doctor bill and funeral expenses be paid out of my personal property first and I hereby give to my son H.M.P. Grant the following three tracts of land to wit: the Buchanan tract containing 73 acres more or less, Wilkes tract containing 38 acres more or less and Clark tract containing 50 acres more or less.

And the balance of my estate both real and personal I do hereby give to my wife Mary J. Grant, to have and to hold during her natural life and at her death to be equally divided between my three sons W.F. Grant, L.M. Grant and S.E. Grant.

And I do hereby constitute and appoint my wife Mary J. Grant and my son W.F. Grant my administrators to settle up my estate.

Given under my hand and seal this the 20th day of August, 1897.

At a court continued and held for Washington County the 25th day of August 1897
     A writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Robert G. Grant Sr. was this day produced in open court and proved by the oaths of R.W. Roberts and W.L. Clark the two subscribing witnesses thereto. It is therefore ordered that said writing be recorded as and for the last will and testament of Robert G. Grant, Sr. deceased.
