John Smith of Washington County, Virginia

1. perishable part of estate to be sold and just debts be paid; real estate to be sold if my executor and wife deem it prudent.

2. “I give to my wife Nancy Smith 1/3 part of all the money arising from sale of said land and property and by her to be laid out in western land” to be enjoyed during her life and then to all my children

3. balance of my estate to my children: Francis, Thomas, Jonas, Sarah Clark, James, Tobias, Polly, John and William to be divided equally after deducting $525 from the same which money I give to my 5 youngest children (in order to make them equal to the 4 eldest children) in this manner:
     - James $120
     - Tobias $40
     - Polly $120
     - John $120
     - William $120
