We the Commissioners for the district of Washington Counties do certify that John Moffett heir at Law to Wm Moffett, decd is entitled to four hundred acres of land lying in Washington County on the waters of the North fork of Holston adjoining Andrew Davison on the West, Halbert McClure on the east, the division between the said Moffet & McClure to be at the first dead tree towards McClures to include his improvement he having proved to the Court that he was entitled to the same by actual settlement made in the year 1773. As witness our hands this 22nd day of August 1781
