Lyman Copeland Draper (1815-1891)was interested in the history of the Carolinas, Virginia, and the Ohio River Valley from the time of the frontier conflicts through the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812. He conducted thousands of interviews, wrote countless letters and collected a wide variety of material documenting the roles played by various individuals during this period. The original manuscript collection comprises 50 series (A-ZZ) and 491 volumes and is held by the State Historical Society of Wisconsin.
