Father | Thomas Henry Rogers2 b. abt 1843 |
Mother | Sarah Ann Byars Dunn2 b. 19 Sep 1841, d. 6 May 1884 |
Birth | Mar 1877 | Estella Rogers was born in Mar 1877, probably in Grayson County, Texas, although some records list her state of birth as Virginia.1,2,3,4,5,6,7 |
Cens-1900 | 9 Jun 1900 | Estella's mother died in 1884 at which time Estella was about 7 years old. It is not known where Estella lived in the next few years but by 1900 she was living with her Aunt Florence and Aunt Emma in the old Dunn log home just outside of Glade Spring in Washington County.3 |
Estella's only surviving sibling, an 18 year old sister named Anna, was enumerated the same year in the home of the sisters' uncle William Dunn in Glade Spring.8
Marriage | 21 Oct 1903 | She married Joseph H. White Clark, son of William Dixon Clark and Nancy Caroline Williams, on 21 Oct 1903 in Washington County, Virginia.7 |
Residence | Following her marriage to Joe Clark, Estella briefly lived in Pennsylvania as her daughter Emily was born there in 1905. Joe had been living in Duquesne, Pennsylvania when they married.7
Cens-1910 | 2 May 1910 | By 1910, seven years after their marriage, Joe and Estella had settled near Glade Spring, Virginia with their two children.4 |

Cens-1930 | 25 Apr 1930 | Ten years later, in 1930, Rogers, Samuel and Margaret were still at home. A daughter, Sarah C. age 9, was also listed. This was almost certainly the same Sarah as the daughter who was born in 1910 and who was recorded as a 10 year old in 1920. Joseph, at age 54, was no longer farming, but now listed himself as a rural mail carrier.6 |
