MarriageAug 1865 She married first John Beattie Allison, son of William Beattie Allison and Mary Clark, in Aug 1865 in Lynchburg, Virginia.5,6 
 At some point in their marriage, Sarah and John adopted a daughter Mary Ida.7 
Widowed21 Jan 1879  Sarah was widowed when John died in 1879 at age 37. Sarah was also 37 at the time. 
Legatee  John's will stipulated that his personal property and real estate was to be sold and divided between Sarah and their children, with each receiving an equal share. Sarah retained the right to the household and kitchen furniture until she remarried or the youngest child came of age.7 
Cens-1880Jun 1880 When the 1880 census was recorded for Glade Spring, Washington County, Virginia, Sarah had been widowed about 18 months. She was listed as the head of her household with six children (Ida, Joseph, Lelia, Nellie, Clinton and Gordon), ranging in age from 14 to 4. Sarah's brother, Vernon Wright was also making his home with her. A servant was also with the family.8 
Marriage1 Jan 1889 She married second James W. Brewer on 1 Jan 1889 in Washington County, Virginia.9 
Residence  However she remained in the Allison family home until her death in 1905.10 
Name Other Sarah was known in the family as "Aunt Pink."11 
Death14 Aug 1905 Sarah died on 14 Aug 1905 at age 63.3 
Burial She was buried near her first husband in the Allison-Keys square at Old Baptist Cemetery, Washington County, Virginia.3
