Birth4 Oct 1792 Ann Ryburn was born on 4 Oct 1792 according to transcribed cemetery records, although other documents offer variations on this date.3,4,5,6 
Legatee22 Feb 1818 Ann's father wrote his will in February of 1818, a month before her marriage. In it he left her two beds and bed furniture, two milch cows, her choice of the young mares, six sheep, a bureau and twenty dollars. He also willed her a Negro boy named Henderson and a share of the property left after other legacies were satisfied.2 
Marriage12 Mar 1818 She married James Clark, son of James Clark and Isabella Breckenridge, on 12 Mar 1818 in Washington County, Virginia.7,8 
  James and Ann owned approximately two hundred acres of land on both sides of the Old Stage Road south of present day Glade Spring. John purchased an initial 100 acres from his parents in 1812 and then added several smaller tracts throughout his marriage. 
Residence  James and Ann lived about three miles from the Ryburn land on which Ann was raised.9 
  Lizzie Clark Ryburn, who was James's niece and Ann's cousin, left a memoir in which she stated that James and Ann had 7 children.10 
Cens-185024 Aug 1850 The 1850 census of Washington County recorded four of these children still living at home: James (23), William (21), Martha (18) and Mary (14). Also living with them was Martha Snodgrass, the daughter of James' sister Margaret Clark Snodgrass. Margaret had died the previous year leaving Martha an orphan.11 
Cens-186011 Jul 1860 Ten years later Martha Snodgrass had married. William and Martha Clark were still single and living at home with their aging parents. William would lose his life the following summer fighting for the Confederate Army. Daughter Mary was also enumerated at home with her parents in 1860; she was a recent widow with a two year old son, Thomas.12 
Death21 Dec 1869 Ann died from neuralgia of the brain on 21 Dec 1869 at age 77.13,14,15 
Burial She was buried at Old Glade Spring Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.13
