Legatee15 Mar 1870  Martha's father stipulated in his will, written in 1870, that following his death Martha was to have the use of several upstairs rooms in the family home which he had bequeathed to her brother, James. James was also to provide firewood and board for Martha. She also received an equal share of her father's estate, along with her siblings or their heirs.1 
Death18 Jul 1893 Martha died on 18 Jul 1893 at age 63.4,5 
Burial She was buried at Old Glade Spring Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.4 
Probate Recd9 Sep 1893 On 9 Sep 1893 a sale bill of the personal property of Martha A. Clark was filed in Washington County court. Some of the items sold included a rocking chair, a hair braid, a Bible, window curtains, and various items of furniture. Most of the items were purchased by family members, including Martha's sisters Isabella Smyth and Mary Love Hutton, her niece Rachel Scott and her nephew William M. Clark. An appraisement had been carried out on September 9th. Besides the items that were later sold it also listed as assets notes held on R. Robinson, G. Beattie, James Porterfield, James K. Smyth and William McRyburn.7
