Cens-18509 Sep 1850  William and Mary Ann made their home in Washington County where they were enumerated in the early fall of 1850. Besides William (42) and Mary (35) the household included Phebe (10), Samuel (8), Amanda (6) and Phebe Buchanan (60).6 
  The elder Phoebe (who should have been enumerated as Phoebe Redshaw) was Mary Ann's mother and William's aunt. [William and Mary Ann were first cousins as their mothers were sisters] 
Cens-186031 Jul 1860  Ten years later William and Mary Ann's family had grown by the addition of Margaret, Joseph and Moses. William's 1860 household entry also indicated that he owned land valued at $1,260 and personal property worth $600.7 
Widowed11 Sep 1860  William died of consumption just a few months after the 1860 enumeration. 
  Mary Ann continued to reside in Washington County where she was enumerated as the head of her household in both 1870 and 1880. Mary Ann's 1870 household included Phoebe (30), Amanda (24), M.A. (20, female) [Margaret] and Joseph B. (13). Mary Ann owned land worth $850; her youngest son Joseph was noted to be a farmer. Mary Ann's son Moses appeared to be living a few households away.

By 1880 only daughter Amanda and son Moses resided with Mary Ann.8,9 
Death6 Jan 1885 Mary died on 6 Jan 1885 at age 72.10
