Birth30 Sep 1813 Sarah Edmondson was born on 30 Sep 1813 in Virginia.3 
  Following her mother's death in 1833 Sarah made her home with her sister Elizabeth Snead and Elizabeth's husband Nickerson in Washington County, Virginia.4,5,6 
Devisee1869  Nickerson Snead died in 1869. He left Sarah, who he referred to as his sister-in-law, a house and 10 acres of land.7 
Cens-187029 Sep 1870  It is not clear if Sarah actually lived on the land as she continued to make her home with Elizabeth.8 
Legatee1876  Elizabeth died in 1876. She left Sarah a note for $500 which Elizabeth held on James O. Ryburn. She also left Sarah a large number of household items and "1 good horse and 1 good cow."9 
Cens-18801880  Sarah then made her home with David and Harriet Debusk and their niece Virginia. In 1880 she was listed as a boarder, age 65, and single.10 
Will12 Jul 1883 Sarah wrote her own will on July 12th 1883. She remembered an extensive list of people [see abstract linked below] including several colored families. She left money to Glade Spring Presbyterian Church, Glade Spring Baptist Church and Glade Spring Methodist Church.11,12 
Death4 May 1886 Sarah died on 4 May 1886.3 
Burial She was buried at Old Glade Spring Cemetery in Washington County. Her grave is part of a cluster of stones that includes her mother and 3 of her Scott half-siblings: John Scott, Mary Scott and Elizabeth (Scott) Beattie Snead.3 
Will-Recd24 May 1886 Sarah's will was recorded on 24 May 1886 in Washington County, Virginia.11
