Birthcirca 1814 Ann C. Edmondson was born circa 1814 in Virginia.4 
Ward16 Jun 1818  Ann's father died when she was very young. Jane Edmiston [her mother] was appointed as her guardian on May 20, 1818 in Washington County, Virginia.3 
Marriage12 Jan 1836 Ann married Allen Scott on 12 Jan 1836 in Washington County, Virginia.5 
Migration Ann and Allen did not settle in Virginia but instead headed west to Missouri where they were enumerated farming land in Cole County in 1850. Two children were listed with them that year: 9 year old James and 2 year old William.4 
  Whitely researchers state that William was the 7th child born to Ann and Allen. If this is the case they must have lost several children in early childhood.6 
Cens-186015 Jun 1860  Another child, Thomas, joined the family about 1854. By 1860, Allen and Ann owned land valued at $1,000 and personal property worth $685.7 
Cens-18701 Aug 1870 Sometime between 1860 and 1870 the family moved to Vernon County, Missouri, where Allen (65) and Annie (53) again farmed land. Two sons still lived at home: 21 year old William and 14 year old Thomas. James Scott (no doubt their son) lived next door.8 
Legatee19 Jun 1872  Elizabeth Snead wrote her will back in Washington County in the summer of 1872. She left her "sister Ann Scott $250" [they were half-sisters].9 
LegateeJul 1883  Sarah Edmondson wrote her will in July 1883. She left Ann $100 but included the following statement: "The children of my sister Ann Scott and Armstrong and Nickerson S. Edmondson if any of the parties are dead their children take the parties share."1
