Cens-1870 | 1 Aug 1870 | Sometime between 1860 and 1870 the family moved to Vernon County, Missouri, where Allen (65) and Annie (53) again farmed land. Two sons still lived at home: 21 year old William and 14 year old Thomas. James Scott (no doubt their son) lived next door.8 |
Legatee | 19 Jun 1872 | Elizabeth Snead wrote her will back in Washington County in the summer of 1872. She left her "sister Ann Scott $250" [they were half-sisters].9 |
Legatee | Jul 1883 | Sarah Edmondson wrote her will in July 1883. She left Ann $100 but included the following statement: "The children of my sister Ann Scott and Armstrong and Nickerson S. Edmondson if any of the parties are dead their children take the parties share."1 |

- [S711] Sarah Edmondson will (recorded 1886), Washington Co., Virginia Will Book 22: 247. Sarah's will was written in 1883 and recorded in court on 24 May 1886. Since the will did not name an executor, the distributees asked that M.M. Morris be appointed administrator.

It named mother Jane Edmiston, brothers Samuel, Robert and William [Scott], cousin Samuel Scott, and half brothers and sisters David, Moses, Sally and Ann [Edmiston].
