Guardian21 Dec 1830 On 21 Dec 1830 Samuel was named guardian of William and Sarah Moore, children of his deceased brother, John. 
Cens-18501850 The 1850 census for Washington County, Virginia recorded Ann and Samuel with two of their children, William, age 25, and Jane, age 21, still at home. Samuel owned land valued at $5,000.7 
Will28 Oct 1851 Samuel wrote his will on 28 Oct 1851. In it he left his wife Ann one third of the plantation, as well as 3 fields off the plantation on which Samuel's sister Martha Edmondson lived, should Ann outlive Martha. Samuel also mentioned sons John B. Moore, Andrew F. Moore and William Moore, and daughters Jane Moore and Elizabeth McSpadden.1 
Death5 Nov 1853 Samuel died of bronchitis on 5 Nov 1853 in Washington County, Virginia, at age 71.6,3 
Burial He was buried at Rock Spring Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.8
