Marriage16 Oct 1895 She married William Hankley on 16 Oct 1895 in Washington County.8 
Children Martha and William had two sons: Paul and Edward.3 
Cens-19001 Jun 1900  William and Martha (Mattie) lived in Glade Spring, Virginia following their marriage. The 1900 census stated that the couple owned their home, however a __ Wallace [difficult to read] was actually listed as the head of the first of the two households recorded for that dwelling. He was listed as a renter. William was working as a telegraph operator, and Mattie stated that she was the mother of 2 children, only one of whom was living (Paul, age 3 months).7 
Cens-1910Apr 1910  Ten years later a second son had joined the family. William was listed as the head of the household. He was employed as a " railroad agent". A 15 year old servant also lived with the family.4 
Death1959 Martha died in 1959.2 
Burial She was buried at Old Baptist Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.2
