Name Other  Susan appears to have frequently used her middle name and often appears in records as "Kate." 
Marriage9 Jan 1861 She married Samuel Dunn Allison, son of William Beattie Allison and Mary Clark, on 9 Jan 1861 in Washington County, Virginia.1 
Cens-18801880 When the 1880 census was enumerated for Washington County Samuel and Susan were recorded living next door to his brother, Robert. Samuel and Susan's family included: Charles 14, Benjamin 12, Martha 8, and John, born the previous July. Missing were three children who died young: William, Robert and Minnie. The baby, John, would die a few years later.4 
Cens-19001 Jun 1900 In the mid 1890s Charles, Benjamin and Martha all married. The 1900 census enumeration found Benjamin living back home with Samuel and Susan. Benjamin's wife Fannie and 3 year old daughter were also present. At age 62 Samuel was still farming, as was Benjamin. Susan stated that she was the mother of 7 children, 3 of whom were living.5 
WidowedApr 1905 Samuel died in April 1905. 
Cens-1910Apr 1910  Susan continued to make her home with Ben and Fannie, and their children.6 
ChildDeath  Susan's 45 year old son Charles died a few months after the 1910 census was recorded. At that point she had outlived all but 2 of her 7 children. 
Death19 Mar 1915 Susan died on 19 Mar 1915 in Washington County at age 76.2,3 
Burial She was buried in the Allison-Hutton square in Old Glade Spring Cemetery, Washington County, Virginia.2
