Birth4 Jan 1858 John Randolph Robinson was born on 4 Jan 1858.4 
Marriage15 Nov 1882 He married Minerva Jane Susong, daughter of Mahlon S. Susong and Mary Ellen Buchanan, on 15 Nov 1882 in Washington County, Virginia.5 
WidowedJul 1898  Minerva died in July 1898. John was left to raise their young son, Mahlon, who was not quite 3. 
Cens-19001900  John and Mahlon were enumerated in the home of Frank Moore in 1900. John stated that he was a farmer.6 
Marriagecirca 1901 He married Sarah J. Burkhart circa 1901.7 
Residence  John, Sarah and Mahlon lived on a home on the north side of the Great Road and east of the brick house in which John had been raised. The rear of the house enclosed an older log structure. For some years John also owned the large home known as Brook Hall which his first wife Minerva had purchased prior to her death. When Mahlon married, John built he and his wife Bess a new home on the south side of the Great Road.8,7,9 
  In 1937, Vivian Coletti interviewed John and his brother "M.W." (Moses Walter) Robinson as part of a WPA project to inventory historical homes. They provided a first hand account of the old brick Robinson family home.10 
Death15 Oct 1940 John died on 15 Oct 1940 at age 82.4 
Burial He was buried at Old Glade Spring Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.4
