Marriage25 Sep 1824 She and Edward Hutton, son of John Hutton and Jane Dickson,were married by Rev. Alexander McEwan on 25 Sep 1824 in Washington County, Virginia.5 
25 Sep 1824  Sarah was 37 and Edward was a 52 year old widower. 
Residence  Sarah and Edward lived on a tract of land Edward purchased from his father in 1794. The property sat northeast of present day Glade Spring, on the waters of Hutton Creek.6 
Cens-18301830  Edward and Sarah's 1830 household included 2 males under 5 which would indicate the presence of their young sons Arthur and Francis. Besides Edward [50-59] and Sarah [40-49], the household included a female age 20-29.7 [an unmarried daughter from Edward's first marriage??] 
Death8 Jul 1839 Sarah died on 8 Jul 1839 at age 51.8 
Burial She was buried near her son Francis and several Porterfield nieces and nephews at Old Glade Spring Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.8

John's will, dated 18 Dec. 1832 named his son James, son Francis and daughters Sarah Hutton and Eleanor Clark. James was appt executor with James Kincannon, R.B. Edmondson and Samuel Dunn witnesses. He posted bond in the amt of $1,000 with Beatie Ryburn his security.
