  Elizabeth's name has been erroneously reported in some manuscripts as Sarah or Nancy.8,9,10 
Marriagecirca 1775 She married first Castleton Brooks circa 1775.11,2 
Migration  After their marriage Elizabeth and Castleton moved to Hickory Cove, (now) Hawkins County, Tennessee.12 
Widowed1777 Elizabeth was widowed in 1777 when Castleton was killed by Indians.12 
Migration Elizabeth moved back to Washington County where her brother Andrew helped her administer Castleton's estate.12,13 
Heir10 Oct 1783 In October, 1783 Andrew, acting on behalf of Castleton's heirs, received 483 acres in Hickory Cove on Big Creek in Sullivan (now Hawkins) County, Tennessee, as well as an adjoining 226 acre tract known as Nettle's place.12 
Marriage1784 Elizabeth married second John Porterfield in 1784.14,4 
Land-Grant1 May 1787 On 1 May 1787 John received a grant for 110 acres in washington County, Virginia. The land had been surveyed in Feb. 1785. John purchased the land as the assignee of a treasury warrant issued to Aaron Lewis in Dec. 1781. The tract sat on the waters of the Middle Fork of the Holston River adjacent to William Crunckleton and Hugh Johnston.15 
Land-Grant2 May 1787  The following day John also received a patent for 150 acres which sat adjacent to his other parcel as well as to the land owned by Cronkleton and Johnson. It was described as "on a fork of Baker's [later Hutton's] Branch, the waters of the Middle Fork of the Holston River". This patent was issued in right of settlement and had also been surveyed in Feb. 1785. John paid 15 shillings for the land.16 
Heir3 Mar 1795 Elizabeth's father, Francis Kincannon, wrote his will on 3 Mar 1795 in Washington County, Virginia. In it he referred to her as his daughter, Elizabeth Porterfield, and left her 50 pounds to be paid to her by her brother George Kincannon.5 
Death1830 Elizabeth died in 1830.7
