Birth26 Aug 1785  According to his original headstone Arthur was born on 26 Aug 1785 although a newer stone in the same cemetery states that he was born in 1788 (no month or date).2 
Marriage13 Apr 1812 Arthur Reid married Lucretia Keys, daughter of Benjamin Keys and Elizabeth Stuart, on 13 Apr 1812 in Washington County, Virginia.3 
Land-Sell25 Jul 1842 On 25 Jul 1842 Arthur and Lucretia sold 149 acres on both sides of the middle fork of the Holston River in Washington County to William Graham. 
Cens-185030 Aug 1850  Arthur and Lucretia were enumerated on the 1850 census which recorded the names of all members of a household. Arthur, at 64, farmed land valued at $1,400. "Lucrissa" was 62. Also present were 4 younger members of the family: Nancy (25), David R. (22), Isabella (19) and Jane (17).4 
Will2 Dec 1854  Arthur wrote his will in early December 1854. He left his son David 200 acres of land to include the dwelling house. David was to provide for his father during the rest of his life. David was also to provide his sisters Nancy, Isabella and Jane with a horse. He was further charged with supporting Nancy and Isabella as long as they remained single. They were also to receive a cow, 5 head of sheep and their bedclothes and bedding.

The balance of Arthur's land was to be sold and the proceeds divided among the following children: Benjamin, Elizabeth, Margaret, Rodger, Nancy, Isabella and Jane. Arthur appointed Benjamin Reid and David Reid as his executors.5 
Death4 Apr 1860 Arthur died on 4 Apr 1860 at age 74.2 
Burial He was buried at Rock Spring Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.2 
Will-Recd23 Apr 1860 Arthur's will was recorded on 23 Apr 1860 in Washington County court.5
