Marriage She married John Reid, son of James Reid.1 
  In December 1821 Elizabeth's daughter Isabella married William Moffett in Washington County, Virginia. In late 1823 the young couple loaded up a covered wagon and headed west to Indiana. A family history left by Isabella's descendants includes the wistful line, "Grandmother saw her parents for the last time when they descended the mountain as they left for Indiana. Her mother died about 2 years later in her Virginia home."4 
Death14 Dec 1827 Elizabeth died on 14 Dec 1827 in Washington County, Virginia.3,5 
Burial She was buried at Rock Spring Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia. Elizabeth's headstone reads Elizabeth Read, reflecting the inconsistent spelling of the Reed/Reid/Raid/Read surname during this time frame.3
