Marriage10 Aug 1864 She married Minter Jackson, son of Stephen Pomeroy Jackson and Hannah Bailey, on 10 Aug 1864 in Smyth County, Virginia.5,6 
 She was 33 and he was 39. 
 Isabella's 1864 marriage to Minter Jackson created an instant family for the young woman. Minter, widowed in 1856, was the father of a son and daughter who were approximately 13 and 9 when their father remarried. Though Minter was originally from West Virginia, and his children were born there, he had lived in the Smyth County, Virginia area during the Civil War. After his marriage to Isabella the extended family settled in Virginia. 
  Minter was a successful merchant and businessman, owning the Colonnade Hotel in Abingdon (Washington Co., Virginia) from the mid 1870s on. He was also the founder and president of the Bank of Marion in Smyth County. It was chartered in Feb. 1874.7,8 
Cens-188018 Jun 1880 By 1880 Isabella's stepchildren were married. She, Minter, and the two children from their own marriage lived in Marion. The family, which included their son Walter and daughter Hannabelle, were recorded in June 1880 residing in a hotel.9 [probably rooms at the Exchange Hotel whose lower floors at one time were used by the bank] 
Death21 Jul 1880 Isabella died on 21 Jul 1880 in Marion, Smyth County, Virginia, at age 49.10 
Burial She was buried at Westwood Memorial Gardens in Smyth County.3
