Birth30 Jun 1819 Jeptha Newton Logan was born on 30 Jun 1819.6 
Land-Sell23 Sep 1843  Jeptha's mother Elizabeth was devised a 1/6th share in the land of her father when William Dunn wrote his will in 1819. However, Elizabeth and her siblings did not divide the land at that time. In 1843 4 of the 6 shares were sold to Jonas Smyth. Elizabeth was deceased so Jeptha and his siblings sold their mothers 1/6th share.7 
Guardian25 Oct 1847  Jeptha was named guardian of Mary B. Logan [his youngest sister] on Oct. 25th 1847.1 
Cens-18505 Aug 1850  At the time of the 1850 census Jeptha provided a home for Elizabeth Logan 28, Lydia Logan 20, and Mary Logan 17 [his three younger sisters], as well as for Jane Moffet [his mother's sister]. Jepthae farmed land valued at $4,000.8 
Guardian27 Dec 1852 27 Dec 1852 Jeptha was named "committee of Jane Moffett". Jane was described as a lunatic confined in the asylum at Staunton.9 
  Jeptha may have found caring for his aunt too difficult since his sister Elizabeth married earlier in December 1852, and his sister Mary married in June 1852. The third sister, Lydia, married the following summer. 
Marriage1 Aug 1865 He married Elizabeth Wampler on 1 Aug 1865 in Washington County, Virginia.4 
Cens-188030 Jun 1880  Jeptha and Elizabeth lived in the North fork District of Washington County. There they were enumerated on the 1880 census, 15 years after their marriage. Jeptha was 60, Elizabeth was 34. Also present was Lyddia F[rances] (12), Wiley (10), Allen (9), Rachel (7) and Benjamin (3) (whose name had been lined out).10 
Death28 May 1882 Jeptha died on 28 May 1882 at age 62.6 
Burial He was buried at McCullock-Cuddy Cemetery.6
