Birth David Beattie was born in Washington County, Virginia. 
Migration  As a young man he and his brother Samuel migrated west to Missouri.3 
Death28 Aug 1819 David died on 28 Aug 1819 in Howard County, Missouri.4 
Court Record17 Aug 1820 On 17 Aug 1820 Josiah Beattie [David's brother] appeared in Washington County Court and testified as to David's date and place of death. He further stated that David was the son of William Beatie of Washington County and that David died unmarried. The court therefore acknowledged William as David's heir-at-law according to the laws of Virginia.4 
  David probably lived in the part of Howard County that became Boone County the year after his death.
