Cens-19201920  By 1920 Lucy's brother William had divorced and the two siblings shared a home on Gladespring-Saltville Road. Their 12 year old niece, Hattie Tartar was also enumerated with them although it is difficult to tell if she was living in their home or just visiting as she was also recorded with her mother on the same census.7 
Marriage15 May 1923 She married Jacob Oliver Susong, son of Mahlon S. Susong and Mary Ellen Buchanan, on 15 May 1923 in Washington County, Virginia.8 
  They were second cousins. 
  Lucy was about 47 years old. Jacob was 59. He had previously been married to Lucy's niece with whom he had five children. 
Cens-193026 Apr 1930  Jacob and Lucy were recorded on the 1930 census of Washington County, along with Jacob's youngest daughter from his first marriage, who was also named Lucy.9 
Death31 Jan 1965 Lucy died on 31 Jan 1965 at age 88.4 
Burial She was buried near her sister Mittie in Mountain View Cemetery, Rural Retreat, Wythe County, Virginia.4
