Widowed  James died in Dec. 1847 or Jan. 1848. His will left Sarah the the land on which they lived during the remainder of her lifetime.4 
Cens-18507 Sep 1850  James' will had also noted that James and Sarah Williams (children of his and Sarah's deceased daughter Jane) lived with the couple. The 1850 census suggests that the children remained with Sarah after James' death. Sarah's 1850 household included herself (70) and James (16) and Sarah (10). Sarah's son William Crow lived on neighboring property.3 
Will29 Jan 1851  Sarah wrote her will the following January. She left James Williams and Sarah Williams each a horse and saddle; James also received 2 cows, a plow and other items. Sarah gifted her sons William and James the interest on two notes she held on them. The remainder of her estate was to be divided between the following children and grandchildren: James Crow, William Crow, Nancy Snodgrass, Mary Snodgrass, Sarah Robinson, the children of dec'd daughters Margaret Kelly and Jane Williams (the grandchildren to receive their mother's share). Sarah named her son William Crow as her executor.5 
Deathbefore 24 Feb 1851 Sarah died before 24 Feb 1851 as her will was recorded in Washington Co. on that date.5
