Marriage29 Oct 1807 He married Sarah Snodgrass on 29 Oct 1807 in Washington County, Virginia.2
Cens-18502 Sep 1850  Benjamin and Sarah were enumerated on the 1850 Washington County census with 4 men who appear to have been their sons: John (35), William (28), Robert (24) and Samuel (22). Although Benjamin [enumerated as James] was a miller, the 4 younger men were all farmers.3
Benjamin and Sarah may have had other children but if so they appear to have left home or died prior to 1840. That years census entry for Benjamin's household, although it does not name individual family members, indicates the presence of Benjamin and Sarah and 4 adult males whose ages were consistent with John, William, Robert and Samuel. Three female slaves were also part of the household.
Death5 Dec 1853 Benjamin died on 5 Dec 1853 at age 67.1
Burial He was buried at Rock Spring Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.1
