Birth7 Apr 1860 Sarah M. Horne was born on 7 Apr 1860 in Smyth County, Virginia.1,2 
Childhood  Sarah grew up in the old Talbert Inn on the historic Stage Rd. (now Rt. 11) just south of Glade Spring in Washington County. Sarah was only 12 when her father died. Sarah's mother continued to run the inn and as the eldest child Sarah no doubt assumed a good deal of responsibility.3 
Marriage21 Dec 1887 She married Peter Cunningham Clark, son of Peter G. Clark and Ann Permelia Cunningham, on 21 Dec 1887 in Virginia.2 
Cens-Sum  Peter resided in Rocky Mount (Franklin Co.) Virginia where he served as a Presbyterian Minister. The couple moved several times over the next 40 years. Census records recorded them in Mercer Co., W. Virginia (1900), Roanoke Co., Virginia (1910) and Montgomery Co., Virginia (1920 and 1930). They raised 7 children, including a son Peter Jr. who died at one day of age and is buried with his parents at Old Glade Springs Cemetery.4,5,6,7 
Death4 Apr 1935 Sarah died on 4 Apr 1935 at age 74.1 
Burial She was buried at Old Glade Spring Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.1 
  Sarah and Peter's daughter Eleanor (Clark) Shelburne inherited the Old Stagecoach Inn on the death of Sarah's brother William and his wife Louisa.8
