Marriage12 Dec 1872 He married Lelia Agnes Wright, daughter of James Edward Wright and Sarah Mariah Thompson, on 12 Dec 1872 in Washington County, Virginia.2 
Cens-1880Jun 1880 Eight years after their marriage Mansfield and Lelia were enumerated living in the community of Glade Spring in Washington County. The household included 45 year old Mansfield who was employed as a dealer in general merchandise [general store owner?], Lelia (35), their two children: Hattie, (3) and Charles (2), as well as Lelia's son from her first marriage: William Childers (14). Two servants assisted in the home.4 
  Lelia's daughter from her first marriage was not present in 1880, suggesting she died young. Also missing in 1880 was Lelia and Mansfield's first daughter, Mary, who died in 1874. 
Death1883 Mansfield died in 1883.3 
Burial He was buried at Old Glade Spring Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.3
