Mrs. B.G. Thatcher,

Dear Mrs. Thatcher Re Beattie Family
I am not of the Beattie Family, but I was born in the Breckenridge Beattie home east of Savannah/Mo. in 1881. He was an Uncle of my father, his wife being Sarah Cole. I am anxious to discover something concerning other members of this Beattie family. The father and mother of Breckenridge Beattie were DAVID BEATTIE and NANCT [Nancy] CLARK. They came to Missouri from Virginia and died and were buried in Andrew County, Missouri.
Yesterday I saw Gates Beattie who runs a filling station on the Andrew-Buchanan County line North of St. Joseph Missouri and he showed me a card which you or some member of your family left with him in recent months. From what he said I assume that you are some how related to the Andrew County Beattie Family.
I wish you would be good enough to fill out for me the enclosed questionnaire, which will tell me what I seek to know about the Beattie Family. In case you are in a position to give me data indicating when and where your family originated, I would be happy to have you give me this data also.
Yours sincerely,
Redmond Selecman Cole,
Box 92. Tulsa, Oklahoma.
