Mr. Redmond S. Cole,
Tulsa, Oklahoma

Dear Mr. Cole:
I have just gotten together some Beatty history for Dr. Bill Sam Gilmer, a cousin, and thought you might like a copy.  I do not know how accurate it is, but it was taken from old records of this family.
What I am writing you primarily about is that we are to have a Gilmer get-to-gether next Summer with the object of forming a permanent Gilmer Association, to meet yearly, and will be in connection with the Reynolds Reunion that meets each year at Martha Washington Inn, Abingdon, Va.  These are allied families, and will probably be know as the Reynolds-Gilmer Association, and we want every one connected with the Gilmer family to be represented and I am wondering if it would be possible for you to attend.  You will be sent a formal announcement in the Spring but I am telling you now so you will have this to think over and if you know of any one who might be interested in coming I’ll be glad to have their names so that they can be sent notices.  The Reynolds Meetings have always been held the last week in August, but next year it will be the last week in July.  I don’t know the dates, but it’s always on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday – Sunday being the day for business transactions, etc., so any one who can come for the first time we’d like for them to at least be there on Sunday.
I am living now in Bristol and hope to be able to collect quite a bit of additional Gilmer history before we meet

next year.
Hope you will be able to meet with us come July next, and with best wishes, I am,
                                            Sincerely,

P. S. If you should see Charles Gilmore tell him of this reunion and urge him to attend.
