Birth28 Sep 1894 Laurence Dickenson Gardner was born on 28 Sep 1894 near Saticoy in Ventura County, California.2,1,3 
Education  Laurence attended Stanford University where he was a member of Phi Lambda Upsilon [honorary chemical society] and Alpha Chi Sigma fraternity. He graduated in 1917.3 
Marriage3 Dec 1919 He married Gladys Munroe on 3 Dec 1919 in Oakland, Alameda County, California.3 
Cens-19206 Jan 1920  Laurence and Gladys were enumerated on the 1920 census just a few weeks after their marriage. Although Laurence and his brother Gene had purchased 36 acres of farmland on E. Telegraph Rd. near Santa Paula in 1919, Laurence and Gladys initially rented a home on California St. in Ventura.4,3 
Cens-193017 Apr 1930  However by 1930 they had moved to the E. Telegraph Rd. property where Laurence and Gene grew citrus crops.5 
  There Laurence and Gladys raised their children Anne and Robert, as well as their adopted daughter Margaret. Margaret was the daughter of Laurence's brother Alton; Margaret's mother died when she was an infant.3 
  In the early 1930s Laurence purchased 5 lots on Woodland Drive in Santa Paula, a small community very near the family property on E. Telegraph Rd. By 1938 Laurence, Gladys and the 3 children had moved from the farm to a home on Woodland Drive.3 
Death22 Dec 1982 Laurence died on 22 Dec 1982 at Santa Paula in Ventura County at age 88.1 
Burial He was buried at Carpinteria Cemetery in Santa Barbara County.3,6
