Name Other  The family knew her as "Oonie."4 
  As an adult Rachel lived with various family members, helping out where she was needed. For some years she lived with the family of her cousin Daniel Buchanan. Daniel's son, William, remembered her as bright and entertaining. She was a good seamstress, an excellent cook, and did all the repairs around the house. She taught William how to play cards and dance - an activity his parents did not participate in.4 
Death12 Jan 1960 Rachel died on 12 Jan 1960 at age 71.3 
Burial She was buried at Old Glade Spring Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.3
