Birth31 Mar 1882 Van Edmondson Wright was born on 31 Mar 1882 in Virginia.2,3 
Childhood Edmondson, as he appears in some records, spent at least a part of his young adulthood living with his maternal grandparents in Washington County, Virginia. They did not have any children other than Edmondson's mother; perhaps as the eldest grandson he helped them care for their properties, which at one point included a hotel in Glade Spring.3,4 
Devisee28 Feb 1912 When his grandfather wrote his will in 1912 he singled Edmondson out for a specific inheritance which he was to receive on his grandmother's death. It consisted of a lot called the Echols property which fronted the railroad lines in Glade Spring.1 
Milit-Reg12 Sep 1918 On 12 Sep 1918 Edmondson registered for the World War I draft. He was employed at the time by the N & W RR at Saltville in neighboring Smyth County where he worked as an asst. cashier. He listed his nearest relative as his mother, Maggie Edmondson Wright. The form described Edmondson as of medium height and slender build with brown eyes and black hair.2 
Death14 Apr 1935 Van died on 14 Apr 1935 in Washington County at age 53.5 
Burial He was buried at Old Baptist Cemetery Annex in Washington County.6
