Birth30 Nov 1865 Nancy Maria Edmondson was born on 30 Nov 1865 in Glade Spring, Washington County, Virginia.1 
Childhood1874  When Nannie was 9 her father died leaving her mother to support 6 children. Besides running the family farm, Fannie Edmondson worked as a school teacher.3 
Marriage Nancy married Robert Marcus Wright.4 
Cens-19001 Jun 1900  Robert was originally from Tennessee; he and Nannie settled there after their marriage. They were enumerated in Hardeman County at the turn of the century. Robert was employed as a merchant. The household also included Nannie (32, mother of 2 children, with 1 living), Robert Jr. (9), Nannie's mother Fannie Edmondson (63), Nannie's sister Mary Dickey (28) and her son, Frank Dickey (6), and Nannie's brother Eugene (25, dentist). Two servants lived with the family.5 
Migration  Nannie and Robert remained in Tennessee for another 9 or 10 years. In the spring of 1910 they headed west, settling in Ventura Co., California. Nannie's brothers Robert and William had settled in Ventura Co. more than 10 years earlier. Two of Nannie's cousins had lived in neighboring Santa Barbara county since the early 1870s.  
  When they first arrived in Ventura County Nannie and Robert rented a farm in Simi Valley and Nannie worked for a hotel. By 1920 they had purchased their own farm in Santa Susana. Robert also managed the People's Lumber Company at Santa Susana.4,6,7 
Death26 May 1939 Nancy died from pneumonia on 26 May 1939 at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, California, at age 73.8 
Burial28 May 1939 She was buried on 28 May 1939 at Oakwood Cemetery in Canoga Park, California.8
