Birth9 Jun 1879 Mary Edmondson was born on 9 Jun 1879 in Virginia.1,2,3 
Cens-18805 Jun 1880 Mary grew up on her parent's farm in the Holston District of Washington County.1 
Marriage She married first Richard Gentry.2 
Residence Mary and Richard apparently lived for a time in Jefferson County, North Carolina, as at least one of their daughters is reported to have been born there.2 
Cens-191018 Apr 1910  By 1910 the couple had divorced and Mary was living with her parents back in Virginia. Her two children, 10 year old Thomas Gentry and 9 year old Rosa Gentry were also members of Samuel Edmondson's household.4 
Migration  Shortly after this census Mary's mother and father migrated west settling in Union County, New Mexico, where several of Mary's siblings already lived. It appears Mary accompanied her parents west. 
Marriage13 Apr 1913 She married second Sam Miller on 13 Apr 1913 in Clayton, Union County, New Mexico.2 
Cens-19205 Jan 1920 The 1930 census recorded the couple living in Clayton with their 3 children: Sam Henry (6), Gene B. (dau, 4) and Virginia (2). Sam, who was in his 60s, was a farmer. Mary was 40.5 
Cens-19305 Apr 1930  Later the couple ran a boarding house in Clayton.6 
23 Feb 1935  Sam died on Feb. 23, 1935. He was 77. 
Cens-19409 Apr 1940  Mary then made her home with her son Sam Jr. who managed a grocery store in California. The 1940 census enumerated Sam and Mary residing at 126 Evergreen St. in Daly City, San Mateo County, where they rented a home together for $40 a month [Daly City is a suburb of San Francisco]. Sam had lived at this address since at least 1935.7 
Death22 Jul 1959 or 23 Jul 1959 Mary died on 22 Jul 1959 or 23 Jul 1959.8,9 
Burial She was buried at Clayton Cemetery in Union County.3
