Burial | | Mary was buried at Old Glade Spring Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia. Her stone lies between that of William Beattie and Armstrong Beattie. Armstrong was the first husband of Mary's sister Elizabeth Scott and William was Elizabeth's son. When Elizabeth wrote her will in 1872 she asked that an iron railing be placed around the graves of Polly, Armstrong and William. It was also to include the graves of Elizabeth and her second husband [Nickerson Snead].3 |
