Birth1 Sep 1882 Harry Lincoln Clark was born on 1 Sep 1882 in Washington County, Virginia.1,3
Harry was the 7th child and 5th son in a family of 10 children. Unlike his older brothers who homesteaded land in the panhandle of Oklahoma, Harry appears to have remained in his parent's home in Washington County. Various census records indicate that he helped his father run the family farm.4,5,6
Devisee5 Mar 1917  James Clark wrote his will in March 1917. It was probated upon his death in 1924. The will left Harry the bulk of his father's lands, with small sections laid off for Harry's siblings Emma, Martha (26 acres each), C[harles] Tilden and Mary (16 acres each). Harry's brother Ambler received 75 acres. Harry also received all his father's livestock and farm implements. Harry and Ambler were charged with paying specific cash bequests to several of their siblings and other relatives.
Milit-Reg12 Sep 1918  Harry registered for the World War I draft on 12 Sep 1918 in Washington County. At the time he was described as of medium height and build with black eyes and hair. He was 36 years old and described himself as a farmer who lived in Lodi, Virginia.3
Cens-19301 May 1930  The 1930 census recorded Harry as the head of a household that included his 4 unmarried siblings: Tildon, Emma, Ambler and Etta [Martha Henrietta]. The men were farmers, no doubt working the land left them in their father's will.7
Marriage2 Apr 1931 He married Elizabeth Lee Nunley on 2 Apr 1931.1
At the time of his marriage Harry was 48 years old. Ironically his brother George married at the same age in Oklahoma. The only other siblings to marry were Oliver, who married in 1906 at the age of 32 and Mary who married in 1922 at age 35. The brothers' 5 other siblings who reached adulthood remained single.
DeathMar 1954 Harry died on either the 11th or the 15th of Mar 1954 at age 71.8,9
Burial He was buried at Rock Spring Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.10
