Birth9 Apr 1880 Clinton Beattie Clark was born on 9 Apr 1880 in Virginia.1,4
Childhood  Clinton spent his childhood in Washington County, Virginia with a large collection of siblings. The make-up of the family has been difficult to analyze as many of the names do not match from census year to census year. For instance, Clinton, born in April 1880, was listed as Verlon on the 1880 census. Yet a younger brother actually was given the name Verlon several years later.5,2
Marriage25 Mar 1906 He married Caledonia Hayden, daughter of Harvey Litchfield Hayden and Elizabeth Dorcas McNew, on 25 Mar 1906 in Smyth County, Virginia.3,6
Cens-191020 Apr 1910 During the first years of their marriage Clinton and Callie lived in Wise County, Virginia, near Clinton's brothers William and David. All 3 men worked in the mines.7
Milit-Reg12 Sep 1918  However, by 1918 when Robert completed the World War I registration process the family had returned to Washington County. Clinton listed his occupation as farmer and railroad worker. The form described him as tall and stout.1
Cens-193019 Apr 1930 Clinton and Callie remained in the Glade Spring District of the county where they were enumerated in 1930 with six children.8
Death12 Aug 1939 Clinton died pneumonia on 12 Aug 1939 at age 59.4,9
Burial He was buried at Old Glade Spring Cemetery in Virginia.4
