He may have even been an acquaintance of Sallie's brother Walter, as both men worked as railroad conductors. Sallie's younger sister Virginia may have accompanied her to Ohio. |

- [S2676] Family records, Stephen Alonzo Jackson (d. 1892) Notebook, held in 2011 by Jackson descendants. Stephen Jackson was Cloydine's uncle; the half-brother of Mary Scott (Jackson) Dunn. However, Sallie's entry was made following Stephen's death, possibly by Stephen's widow, Mary (Ernest) Jackson. It reads "Sallie Byars [Dunn] Born May 19, 1893."
- [S52] Letter, Carolyn Ryburn to Diana Powell, 15 Oct. 2001. Carolyn cites a chart on the Dunn family compiled years ago by she and her mother, Emma Leta Dunn Ryburn (a grandniece of Samuel B.R. Dunn). It recorded Sallie's middle name as "Belle."

- [S2676] Family records, Stephen Alonzo Jackson (d. 1892) Notebook, held in 2011 by Jackson descendants. Stephen A. Jackson was Mary (Jackson) Dunn's half-brother. He kept a notebook in which he recorded the names and dates of Mary's children. Children born after Stephen's 1892 death were entered by another family member, possibly some years after their birth as all of the dates to not appear accurate.
