DeviseeSep 1901  Jean's father died a few month's after her marriage. His will (written in 1887) left Jean the family home [Keywood] and surrounding land with the stipulation that it was to remain under the control of Jean's mother as long as she lived. The will also noted that Benjamin had already divided the remainder of his land among Jean's brothers.2 
Cens-191011 May 1910 Early in their marriage Jean and James lived in Pulaski County, Virginia, where James served as a Minister of the Gospel. Two children from his first marriage (Adelaide, 21 and James, 17) lived with them.6 
Residence7 Jan 1920  However, in 1911 the couple returned to Washington County where they settled at Keywood near Jean's brothers. Rev. Lyons died at Keywood in 1929.7,8,9 
  Jean also provided a home at Keywood for other family members including her widowed brother Alexander "Sandy" Buchanan. Other residents included William Moore and his wife Lula (Goode) Moore, who were Jean's first cousins, and Jean's niece "Oonie" (Rachel Goode Buchanan).10,8 
Death1 Jun 1943 Jean died on 1 Jun 1943 at age 86.11 
Burial She was buried at Edgehill Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.12
