Birth8 May 1864 Andrew Davis Edmondson was born on 8 May 1864 in Washington County, Virginia.4,1 
Name Other  He was known as Dave. 
Marriage6 Mar 1889 He married Carrie Jane Preston, daughter of John Preston and Elizabeth Gray, on 6 Mar 1889 in Washington County. This marriage date may not be accurate or the date of birth (Jan. 1889) recorded on their infant son's stone may not be correct.3 
  In 1898 Andrew's second cousin William J. Edmondson married Carrie's sister Polly and in 1906 Andrew's brother John married Carrie's first cousin Evelyn Preston. 
Cens-19005 Jun 1900  Andrew and Carrie lived in Washington County following their marriage. There they were recorded on the 1900 census. Carrie (enumerated as "Cassie"), at age 32, was listed as the mother of 4 children, 3 of whom were living. They included son Samuel P. (8), daughter Elizabeth (3) and son John (1). Andrew was employed as a farmer; the couple had been married 11 years.5 
Cens-191019 Apr 1910  When they were again recorded 10 years later 3 additional children had been added to the family: Robert, Carrie and Rebecca.6 
  In the years before and after the 1910 census several of Andrew's siblings migrated west, as did his parents. Andrew and Carrie did not join them. 
Cens-19208 Jan 1920 They remained in Virginia, but settled in Leesburg, Loudoun County where Andrew's occupation in 1930 was listed as "orchardist". The couple rented a home which they shared with sons John (21) and Robert (19), and daughters Carrie (17), Rebecca (14) and Margaret (8).7 
Death8 Mar 1950 Andrew died on 8 Mar 1950 in Leesburg, Loudon County, Virginia, at age 85.4 
Burial He was buried at Union Cemetery in Leesburg.4
