| 1835 | In the spring of 1834 Garner moved further north to LaPorte County; Robert did not join him although he visited later that year. And in the fall of 1835 when Garner decided to explore land in Illinois Robert again accompanied his brother but did not make the move himself.5 |

Probate Recd | May 1849 | Robert's final settlement record was filed at the May 1849 term of the Rush County court. Samuel Culbertson and William Moffett administered the estate and posted a $3,000 bond. The inventory was very detailed and included many medical items such as syringes, castor oil bottles, tincture bottles, forceps, etc., as well as many medical books. There were also many household items such as Windsor chairs, beds and bedding, a rocking char, a writing desk and a chart of the United States.12 |
