Cens-188030 Jun 1880  Minter's parents were enumerated in 1880 living in the Black Lick District of Wythe County, Virginia. He was probably the 2 year old listed as "Samuel M."6 
Cens-19007 Jun 1900  By 1900 the family had returned to Washington County where they were enumerated living in the Glade Spring District. Minter was 22. Four younger siblings were also still at home. The census reported that his mother had given birth to 12 children, but only 6 were living.7 
ParentsDcd  Minter's father died in 1908 and his mother died in 1910. 
Cens-191015 Apr 1910 Minter never married; as a young adult he lived in Glade Spring with a family by the name of Hannah.8 
Cens-1920  By 1920 he was living by himself, a few houses from his uncle, Dr. William Dunn. Minter was employed as a pharmacist.9 
Religion Minter belonged to the Presbyterian Church and sang in the choir. In his will he left money for both the Presbyterian church in town as well as for the church at Old Glade Spring.2 
Death20 Jan 1951 He died on 20 Jan 1951 at Abingdon Hospital in Washington County at age 72.10,4 
Burial He was buried at Old Glade Spring Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.4

He kept a notebook in which he recorded the names and dates of Mary's children. Children born after Stephen's 1892 death were entered by another family member, possibly some years after their birth as all of the dates to not appear accurate.
