BirthSep 1822 Elizabeth O. Jane Logan was born on either the 22nd or 27th of Sep 1822 in Virginia.1,5 
  Elizabeth's parents both died some years prior to the 1850 census enumeration. In 1850 Elizabeth's brother Jepthae was enumerated as the head of the household. It included Elizabeth, her two younger sisters and their aunt, Jane Moffett.6 
Marriage22 Dec 1852 She married John Henderson Smyth, son of John Smyth and Nancy Stewart, on 22 Dec 1852 in Washington County, Virginia.7 
Cens-186029 Jun 1860  Elizabeth and John lived near other members of the Smith/Smyth family including John's grandfather, Tobias Smyth. In 1860 John's farm was valued at $4,500. He owned personal property of $4,000. Besides children Mary, Thomas and Lydia, the census recorded Mary Smith, age 40 [John's sister].8 
WidowedOct 1864 Elizabeth was widowed in Oct 1864 when John died at the Battle of Saltville. 
DeathAug 1866 Elizabeth died on either the 16th or 18th of Aug 1866.1,9 
Burial She was buried at Smyth's Chapel Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.1 
  Following Elizabeth's death the children were raised by John's sister Mary Smyth.10
