Birth21 Sep 1862 Earl Bourn Clark was born on 21 Sep 1862 in Virginia.3,4 
Childhood  Earl lived with his parents in the Glade Spring District of Washington County, Virginia. Three of his siblings died when Earl was a small child.5,2 
Cens-190027 Jun 1900 In 1900 Earl was not yet married. The census record lists him as a farmer and reveals that he was providing for both his widowed father and his unmarried sister, Mary. An adopted daughter, Sallie Moore, age 12, was also living with them.6 
Cens-19103 May 1910 By 1910, both Earl's father and sister had died and Earl was living by himself.7 
Legatee29 Jul 1896 Earl's cousin (once removed), William B. Hall, left him $500 when he wrote his will in July 1896.8 
Legatee30 Jun 1906  Earl's cousin, Elizabeth Byars Hall (William's mother), remembered him with a gift of $300 when she wrote her will in 1906.9 
Legatee25 Oct 1909 And Earl's sister, Mary, left him her estate when she died in 1909.10 
Marriage20 Sep 1916 He married Jeannette Porterfield, daughter of Lillburn Breckenridge Porterfield and Rachel Craig Buchanan, on 20 Sep 1916 at the age of fifty-three.11,1 
Residence Following their marriage Earl and Jennie lived on present day Deerfield Lane near the Old Glade Presbyterian Church and manse in Washington County. In the 1950s interstate I-81 was built very close to their old home. The house fell into disrepair and was eventually torn down.12,13,14 
Death17 Jan 1952 Earl died on 17 Jan 1952 at age 89.3 
Burial He was buried at Old Glade Spring Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.3
