Birth7 Dec 1805 Samuel M. Snodgrass was born on 7 Dec 1805 according to a transcription reported to have been made from his father's Bible. However, the date of death and age reported for him on his headstone computes to a date of birth of Dec. 8th, 1804.4,5 
Marriage14 Jun 1827 or 9 Jun 1828 He married Margaret Clark, daughter of James Clark and Isabella Breckenridge, in 1827 or 1828 in Washington County, Virginia. A transcription of the clerk's record created from the marriage return of Rev. D. McIntyre reports the date as 9 June 1828. However Margaret's brother, Peter Clark, entered his sister's date of marriage in his family bible as June 14th 1827.6,7 
Cens-18401840  Samuel's 1840 household included (in addition to his own entry as a 30-39 year old male): 1 male 5-9, 2 females under 5, 1 female 10-14, 1 female 30-39 and one female 70-79. Six slaves were also listed.8 
Death8 Jan 1843 Samuel died on 8 Jan 1843 at age 37.1 
Burial He was buried at Rock Spring Cemetery in Washington County, Virginia.1 
Probate Recd8 Mar 1843 On 8 Mar 1843 Samuel's estate was inventoried by A. Edmondson, Russel M. Buchanan and Levi Oak. The estate included slaves named Stephen, Margaret, Mary, Viney, Manery, Malindy, Mark and Hannah. Many of the household items were sold the following day with Margaret Snodgrass the main purchaser. Joseph Snodgrass served as administrator.9

It lists 13 children and includes their dates of birth although portions of the record are illegible. (2) David Snodgrass [s/o James] Bible, published in Philadelphia in 1816 (cited to Bible Records of Tennessee Families Vol. 2, Tennessee State Society, Daughters of the American Colonists and James White Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, 196, LDS Film #850,665 item 1). The DAR submission notes that the original Bible has burned. At some point a record of the children of James Snodgrass and Ann Long was apparently copied into the David Snodgrass Bible. The only transcription of the David Snodgrass Bible known to exist lists 12 children for James Snodgrass and Ann Long, omitting the first child (Rebecca) listed in entry #1.
